Wednesday Dharma Teachings

Special Event – Teachings on the Lamrim by Venerable Gyalten Samten

Venerable Gyalten Samten

We are thrilled to be able to host Venerable Gyalten Samten, program director of the Tushita Center in New Dehli, for a series of teachings on the Lamrim.

Venerable Samten has generously accepted our invitation to teach a series on the Lamrim on Wednesday nights. She will join us via webcast from her center in India and we now have the technology to have her see and interact with us at our center. It is just like having her in the room! For those unable to attend in person, the teachings will be broadcast live.

The teachings will begin on Wednesday, January 24th and will include meditation sessions on the lamrim topics taught. There will be opportunities for discussion as well. We are hoping to have Venerable join us in person mid-April for teachings as well.

Time: Wednesdays, 6:00 pm Mountain Time. The 2nd Wednesday of each month we have potluck meal after the teaching. Bring something to share and enjoy our supportive community.

Location: Third Street Center, 520 S. 3rd Street, Suite 28, Carbondale, Colorado.

Webcast: If you are unable to attend in person, you can watch the teachings live on your computer or smartphone. We use a platform called zoom. Here is the weblink – Dharma Teaching Webcast.

Gunnison Group: A group meets at the Here & Now Center, 115 S. Colorado ST. They have cushions, blankets, and chairs. All are welcome. Questions – contact Dusty (970) 641-3898.

Lam Rim Text – Venerable Samten suggested studying the Lam Rim Meditation Guide by Karin Valham. It is no longer in print. However, you can download a PDF version below. If you do, we suggest you make a donation to the Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition as they produced the text. Here is a link to do so – FPMT Donation.
