DESCRIPTION:Pith Instructions on the Practice of the Kadam Masters\nThe Kadampa Tradition\, not to be confused with the New Kadampa Tradition\, emerged in Tibet during the 11th century\, traces its roots to the profound teachings of the great Indian master Atisha and his foremost Tibetan disciple\, Dromtönpa. Known for their sincerity\, humility\, and scholarship\, the Kadampa Masters exemplified the integration of all the Buddha’s teachings into daily life through the practices of listening\, contemplation\, and meditation on the stages of the path to enlightenment. \nIn this day-long retreat\, Venerable Tenzin Priyadarshi will provide commentary on the pith instructions of the Kadampa Masters—concise\, practical teachings that distill the essence of the path. These timeless instructions\, grounded in clear wisdom and altruistic ideals\, have profoundly influenced all schools of Tibetan Buddhism. \nOur retreat will include teachings\, guided prayers\, meditation sessions\, and group discussion\, offering an opportunity to connect with these transformative practices. Its programs emphasize responsibility and examine meaningfulness and moral purpose between individuals\, organizations\, and societies. \nVenerable Tenzin’s unusual background encompasses entering a Buddhist monastery at the age of ten and receiving graduate education at Harvard University with degrees ranging from Philosophy to Physics to International Relations. His book “Running Toward Mystery—The Adventure of an Unconventional Life” was published by Random House US. \nVenerable Tenzin serves on the boards of number of academic\, humanitarian\, and religious\norganizations. He is the recipient of several recognitions and honors\, and received a Distinguished Alumni award from Harvard for his visionary contributions to humanity.
