Eight Verses of Thought Transformation: Cultivating Compassion in Challenging Times – A Daylong Retreat with John Bruna
December 13 @ 10:45 am - 4:15 pm

Sunday, December 13th from 10:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. IN PERSON & ON ZOOM
Join us for a daylong hybrid retreat with John Bruna exploring the application of the Eight Verses of Thought Transformation, a treasured Tibetan Buddhist teaching that distills the path of compassion into eight brief verses. These teachings offer profound, practical guidance for opening our hearts, transforming difficult relationships and bringing wisdom and compassion into everyday life.
In times of uncertainty, division and rapid change, these teachings help us recognize reactive habits, soften self-centered concerns and respond to ourselves and others with greater patience, courage and care. Through teachings, guided meditation and reflection, we will explore how to meet difficulties without becoming overwhelmed or closing our hearts, cultivating the inner strength to engage with the world in meaningful and beneficial ways.
COST: The cost of the daylong is on a two-part sliding scale. The registration fee is paid entirely to Durango Dharma Center and does not go to the teacher. Your registration fee ($50, $70, $89 or $108, with scholarship options of $25 or $0) supports our nonprofit and helps cover the costs of our building, utilities, website, administration and, when applicable, the teacher’s travel expenses.
Teacher support is separate from registration. Teachers receive direct donations offered by students at or after the retreat in cash, by check or electronically.
