April 23 – 26, 2020 – Way of Compassion Dharma Center retreat at Waunita Hot Springs Ranch
We are grateful to be able to offer one more retreat at the beautiful Waunita Hot Springs Ranch, located just outside of Gunnison, Colorado. This will be our 13th and possibly the last retreat there as Waunita Hot Springs Ranch is on the market to be sold. We delight that we are able to host at least one more retreat at this wonderfully conducive environment with such kind hosts.
“Inner peace will not come as a blessing from above. Inner peace comes from nurturing genuine love and compassion for others. Buddhism teaches us about bringing inner peace through the training of the mind.”
14th Dalai Lama
The retreat will be facilitated by John Bruna and we will announce the retreat text/topic as we get closer to the retreat dates.
The retreat will include teachings, meditation, journaling, and discussion. The first half of the day will include periods of silence and reflection and the afternoons and evenings will include discussions and question-and-answer periods. John has a particular gift for making these precious teachings accessible and practical for our modern lifestyles. All of his teachings focus on preparing students to properly engage in authentic practice in ways that are effective and meaningful to them. He always points out that knowing Dharma is not nearly as helpful as practicing Dharma.
